Q-tech: Ready-to-use RNAi transfected cells

Based on its outstanding expertise in gene expression and adenovirus technologies SIRION BIOTECH has developed Q-tech, a technology for the generation of siRNA bearing cells ready to use for RNA interference assays. Q-tech offers the unique option to work with cells already carrying a particular siRNA matching your experimental needs.

What is Q-tech?

Cells regardless of strain and type (even primary cells will work!) are transfected with a desired siRNA by SIRION BIOTECH’s unique technology. Afterwards cells are frozen and stored without loss of any RNAi compentence ready for delivery. Upon arrival, cells could be directly used for inhibition assays or stored for several weeks without loss of activity.

How does it work?

Thanks to SIRION BIOTECH’s unparalleled adenoviral transfection technology siRNA could be transduced into cells in a highly controllable manner and is immediately available to silence virtually any desired target gene. Although cells are not genetically transformed any kind of transfection tools became redundant.

What is the benefit?

Compared to standard siRNA approaches, researchers do not need to spend time and resources on design and validation of suited siRNA sequences. No further developments for optimal transfection procedures with respect to a particular cell line or type are needed. In addition, the major source for misleading results is abolished since inhibition efficiency in Q-tech cells is always constant and always reproducible.

Compared to stable siRNA cell lines or even knock-out cells, Q-tech exhibits no clonal or genomic effects. The siRNA-providing adenovirus will not be integrated into the cells genome. Thus, Q-tech cells remain genetically unmodified towards the original cell line, representing the wild type environment.
