SIRION BIOTECH has developed Q-tech to address various questions. The outstanding simplicity and accuracy of Q-tech has been demonstrated with shP53 Q-tech cells, see Figure 1. The western blot of shP53 Q-tech cells exhibit a complete inhibition of P53 protein compared to control U6stop cells.

The effect of P53 on drug susceptibility in cancer cells has been analyzed, see Figure 2. In colon cancer cells, P53 knock down led to higher resistance to the drug 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) as shown in a viability assay which exactly matches the in vivo situation [Barratt et al., Lancet, 360:1381-91, 2002].
