Dr. Christian Thirion
Chief Technology Officer
Phone: +49 89 700 961 99-15

Christian founded SIRION BIOTECH in 2006 while also leading a research team with Neurology-focussed Friedrich-Baur-Institute at the Großhadern. Since then has he worked on cell modelling projects for more than 100 clients shortening pre-clinical cycles in drug and related compound discovery. Christian is a renowned speaker on cellular analysis and modelling. He received his diploma in chemistry 1999 from University of Munich ( Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich). Holds a Ph.D. from the Munich Gene Center since 2004. Conducted novel research on adenoviral vector technology and viral gene therapy.

Dieter Lingelbach
Chief Operating Officer

Dieter has a longstanding general management experience with both Roche Diagnostics, Roche Applied Science and MorphoSys. The latter is today one of the world's leading biotechnology companies on the basis of its proprietary antibody platform. Before, Dieter served several years with Booz & Company’s healthcare practice upon receiving his MBA from Indiana University.

Dr. Michael Salomon
VP Development

Michael joined Sirion Biotech in September 2007. Prior, he acted as leader of a research group at the Botanical Institution of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU) and as a Head of Research and Development at vertis Biotechnology AG in Freising, Weihenstephan. There, he has gained broad and profound experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology and functional genomics. His special expertise over the years has been with viral vector technologies. He studied biology at the LMU where he received his Ph.D. in 1991.

Dr. Kathrin Schmitt
Director, Key Accounts
Phone: +49 89 700 961 99-13

Kathrin has  scientific experience for many years in the fields of functional gene analysis and RNAi.

During her PhD at the “Theodor-Boveri-Institute for life science” in Würzburg she investigated molecular pathways with an emphasis on cell cycle regulation. She has been specializing in developing genetically modified cell models using both viral vector technologies and RNAi. She received her diploma in “Humanbiologie” from the University of Marburg in 2007 with a focus on molecular biology, human genetics and virology. Already during this time she gained insight into cell modeling projects by working for Bayer HealthCare Leverkusen and the “Institute of Molecular Biology and Tumor Research” (IMT) Marburg.

With her PhD she joined SIRION Biotech as a consultant to key accounts.
