SIRION Biotech spun out of the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich (LMU), considered one of Germany’s Top Elite universities. SIRION founders were scientists from the LMU Gene Center conducting research on viral vectors, specifically adenovirus. The group is now being located at the IZB in one Germany’s biotech R&D hotspots, right outside Munich and in near proximity to one of the country’s most prominent University Hospitals, Grosshadern.

SIRION Biotech begun business in 2007 serving researchers worldwide with novel and custom viral vectors, first in research and progressing into industrial and clinical applications. SIRION Biotech collaborates with leading scientists across the country, in Denmark and in Austria. In addition, the company has hands-on experience from more than 500 single projects for more than 150 repeat customers.
